In 2015, singer/songwriter Leigh Nash released her first fan-funded solo country album, The State I'm In, and this week the Sixpence None the Richer vocalist launched a new PledgeMusic campaign to fund her follow-up release. Nash has revealed that some of the new music will consist of cover songs, as well as originals that the singer considers some of her most vulnerable yet. Nash recently released a brand new EP that is exclusively available at her live shows, titled Limited Edition EP, which follows her June single release of the cover song, "Don't Get Me Wrong" (which will also most likely be on the new album).
The campaign page had this to say about the project:
Growing up in the Texas Hill Country of New Braunfels, Leigh Nash officially started her music career singing country music and learning old country songs on the guitar when she was just 12 years old. With a desire to be on the stage, she started calling clubs on her own to book herself to perform.
Before long, as a young teen she was singing at open mic Sunday nights while being backed by a middle-aged band of
town locals. It was then in the early 90’s when she helped form the band Sixpence None The Richer, a famed pop group
that went on to win numerous awards and accolades, including two GRAMMY® Award nominations.
Leigh eventually pursued a solo career, debuting her first album in 2006. She also became a member of Fauxliage and
Movement Nashville, and made guest appearances on albums from bands such as Los Straightjackets and Delerium.
Leigh Nash is based in Nashville, working as a touring solo artist and songwriter, and continues to tour with Sixpence
None The Richer. Currently she is preparing to release a new solo album, slated to release later this fall.
Partnering with PledgeMusic will allow Leigh to finish recording her new songs, in turn getting to share her music first
with Pledge supporters before anyone else. She also has some fun pre-order items to offer! Since every bit of support is
appreciated, everyone who is a patron to Leigh’s PledgeMusic campaign will receive an early download of the new album
and a special thank you note from her directly, just for you!
