Nashville, Tenn. (October 24, 2018) — Last week Curb | Word Entertainment’s Dan Bremnes performed and presented during the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Awards show in Nashville. As Dan made his way down the red carpet before the big show, he and SoundExchange CEO, Michael Huppe, took a moment to celebrate the latest victory for the music community – the Music Modernization Act — championed in large part by Huppe and his team.
“I’m grateful we have people on the front lines fighting for us; watching our backs while we’re on the road and in the studio performing and creating. It was great to get to shake Michael’s hand and thank him personally for his hard work on behalf of the artist community,” says Dan.
“I appreciate hearing directly from creators like Dan — he’s a great example of an artist maximizing his craft by fully engaging his resources. That’s what SoundExchange is all about — advocating for artists rights and fair pay. The passage of the Music Modernization Act is an historic step forward for SoundExchange and the entire creative community,” said Michael .
Dan spent the duration of the evening doing interviews about his inspiring performance, and the buzz swelling around his new EP, Wherever I Go, whose title track was inspired by an eight-day trip around the world with visits to Iceland, Italy, Jordan, Egypt, Dubai, India, and China. The seven-song EP is the Juno Award-winner’s first project on Curb | Word Entertainment.
“Wherever I Go” has amassed more than 1.2M on-demand streams and is Top 20 at radio. His follow-up track, "How You Love Me," yielded a one-take music videotaped at the historic
Sun Studios in Memphis, Tenn. Dan will tour through the fall with Plumb and Unspoken on the We Are One Tour.
