(Nashville, TN) – Two-time GRAMMY® award winning duo for KING & COUNTRY has again reached the top of Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart with the title track from the duo’s critically acclaimed album burn the ships. The track, which marks Joel and Luke Smallbone’s sixth career No. 1 hit and third stemming from their latest album, saw an increase to 11.5 million Christian radio audience impressions. A song with a meaningful and heartfelt story, for KING & COUNTRY dig deeper into themes featured predominantly on the album, including sacrifice, desperation, forgiveness, and ultimately hope and elation.

Luke Smallbone, one half of for KING & COUNTRY, told Jim Asker of Billboard, “‘Burn the Ships’ is deeply personal for my wife and me and, I've got to admit, I wasn't sure how a song about the struggle of addiction would be accepted by people. I'm incredibly grateful and humbled because this song wouldn't exist if not for my wife's honesty, transparency and strength.”

The astounding video showing the duo fleeing a burning ship at sea has been seen over 11 million times, and can be found here.

for KING & COUNTRY enter the new year with a great deal to look forward to. The duo’s unprecedented collaboration with Dolly Parton on the hit track “God Only Knows” earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, while the duo’s full-length masterwork on which the song lives, burn the ships, received a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. After the overwhelming response to the 36-date fall tour in 2019, for KING & COUNTRY recently announced 14 new North American dates for the burn the ships | North America: The 2020 Encore.
