Baton Rouge, LA - In hip hop, there is keeping it real and then there is real talk. Don’t be mistaken, there is a very distinguishable difference. On his new song “Real” (released on his birthday), Rapture Ready Productions’ own JDun pulls back the curtain and delivers a transparent look at his inner thoughts. The feel of the production is a vibe; JDun’s cadence and flow shift nicely; the subject matter is relatable for artists and listeners alike. What JDun has accomplished musically to this point in 2020 should not be slept on. Beginning with the release of the single “I Choose You” on Valentine’s Day, and now “Real”, the Baton Rouge emcee is putting quality content out into the CHH space that begs to be heard. “Excuse the cliche statement, but I really got real on this song” stated JDun. “I’ve been challenging myself to be more honest in the music I put out and I felt the Lord really stretching me on this one!” “I wrote this song with the heart intent to free others who may battle with real acceptance of God’s real love as I once felt and sometimes still do.” Stream the new single “Real” now on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/54iBGyVoRH59bKkRr14DTG?si=GfZU8CoHSbq-tSRT6EM49w Follow JDun: Twitter | Instagram | Facebook Song Details Title: Real Artist: JDun Release Date: March 17, 2020 Engineering: JayKnight of Morning Music Movement Label: Rapture Ready Productions About JDun I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Growing up in the city, I was your average kid. In the late 80's, rap was blowing up and it was everywhere in the culture. Of course I started rapping! At age 17, however, my life changed forever! I was working on a solo album. The solo album was coming to completion and the local release date was October 31, 2003 (Halloween). I had made about 50 copies that I was going to distribute locally and to radio stations. Afterwards, I was going to meet with a friend of mine who had a connection to a record label in town who may have given me a record deal. The night before my release, I was sitting in my bedroom getting my finished CDs packaged up to bring with me to school the next day. All of a sudden, I heard the voice of the Lord. He said, "I have called you to be a Christian rapper." I felt like time had stopped and I was frozen in the words He spoke to me. From the training I received in my church, I knew that when God speaks, you listen and accept what He says! I accepted the call and His will for my life. I made a vow to the Lord that I no longer would use my talents to gain fame or riches. Instead, I vowed that I would use my talents to go out and reach the lost by preaching His word in simplicity through the written lyrics He would give to me. My purpose is to be a light of Christ in a dark world, using my music to deliver and comfort people with the message of Jesus Christ!
