(ATLANTA, GA) – September 11, 2020 – Rising gospel music star and Summerville, South Carolina native, Kelontae Gavin, offers a brand new single, “Hold Me Close,” available at all major digital retail and streaming outlets now. “Hold Me Close” is co-written by Kelontae Gavin, Marquis Boone and TedyP; and produced by Marquis Boone, TedyP and Quantez Blount. The single is currently top 20 on Billboard Gospel’s National Airplay Chart. Listen to “Hold Me Close” now via Gavin’s popular YouTube channel.
Kelontae Gavin shares, “Hold me close is a song for every person from every walk of life. I’m not just excited for the church to hear it, but the world to hear it.”
“Hold Me Close” showcases Kelontae Gavin’s signature powerhouse vocals and continues to solidify him as a millennial worship leader unafraid to proclaim his faith. “Hold Me Close” marks the follow up to his Billboard Top 5 breakthrough radio smash, "No Ordinary Worship," which spent 53 weeks on Billboard's Gospel Airplay Top 30 chart, crossed over onto mainstream radio spending multiple weeks on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay Top 40 chart, and generated over 15 million streams.
Kelontae Gavin’s debut album release The Higher Experience (MBE/Tyscot/WMG), reached #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart and earned him four Stellar Gospel Music Award nominations. Kelontae Gavin became a viral sensation in 2014 after he was recorded singing the Rev. Paul Jones’ classic “I Won’t Complain.” He went on to sign a record deal with celebrated hitmaker Marquis Boone of MBE Enterprises. Gavin’s single EP release, “Higher,” reached the Top 25 on Billboard Hot Single Sales chart that same year and earned him his first Stellar Award nomination for Youth Project of the Year in 2018. Gavin then released his 11-track full-length debut live album The Higher Experience and reached #1 on the Gospel Albums chart.
“I am excited for the opportunity to yet again share the gifts and talent of Kelontae Gavin. His ministry is powerful and we are going to share the gospel in new and innovative ways. His ability to touch young people is going to open a global soundstage for him,” shares Marquis Boone of Marquis Boone Enterprises (MBE).
