Miami, Florida (March 16, 2021) – With a profound desire to dive deep in his Latino culture and roots, and to combine his passion for reggaetón, GAWVI surprises his followers with “Qué Pasó,” the debut single of his first Spanish-language project.
GAWVI, being an influential hip hop artist, has also elevated his artistic career, developing into a renowned producer that has worked with many trailblazers in music such as Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Mandisa, TobyMac, Blanca, among others.

The release of this single introduces GAWVI’s vision and sets the stage for Noche Juvenil, his new production. Also, it establishes the tone of the tracks that will be part of the album.

An upbeat rhythmic song with a contemporary sound that fuses the genres of reggaeton, trap and electronics, Qué Pasó encourages all Jesus believers not to be left behind. In addition, he emphasizes that sometimes it is difficult to move forward, but as long as we are with God and listen to His voice, everything is possible.

Undoubtedly, one of the more challenging processes on this project for GAWVI was singing in Spanish for the first time, even though he knows and speaks the language because of his Salvadorian and Dominican roots. However, through this musical discovery, he shares, “As you grow up, you are figuring out your identity and you sometimes have to backtrack to find out where you first started and that was me with this album. I’ve been on a journey and just about connecting with my roots, my Latin culture, and discovering more about myself.

The six-time Dove Award winner has built a career that has broken barriers, making him a pioneer in the music industry. This is why one of his objectives with this album, beyond connecting with the Latino community, is to pave the way for youth that feels voiceless and to provoke the change he wishes to see in music and in the journey of faith.

ABOUT GAWVI:
GAWVI has made a career out of pushing boundaries and being a pioneer in music. He’s produced two RIAA Certified Gold Records (“Anomaly”. Lecrae; “You Can’t Stop Me”, Andy Mineo), won six Dove Awards, released three full-length solo albums, has over 104Million streams on Spotify, and his music has been heard on major shows and platforms including Netflix, FOX and ESPN. His last album Heathen, caused a chatter among listeners and critics alike, as he pushed against the status quo in Christian music to plant seeds for a more inclusive culture. Now, gearing up for his first Spanish-language album, Noche Juvenil, GAWVI is doing it again. Noche Juvenil transports listeners back to one of GAWVI’s fondest childhood memories, Youth Night. Bringing a hint of nostalgia mixed with infectious beats and unapologetic lyrics, GAWVI delivers a music experience unlike any Youth Night done before.

Inspired by the sounds of Neon 16 and Tainy and blended with his love for Reggaeton and Musica Urbana, the result is an energetic 12-track album that reflects GAWVI’s heart for his Latino culture and church along with his desires to challenge the deep issues within it.

ABOUT REACH RECORDS:
Reach Records started with no strategy, no funds, no big players making big moves. It was just passion, faith and a desire to help others change the way they see the world. For 15 years they have been on a journey to discover how to live that out in music and in culture.

They got involved into this industry because of their love for Jesus and Hip Hop. Long before awards, plaques, chart positions, and radio play, a few guys from Texas started using music to express their newfound faith. The early songs captured their everyday experiences in the street, volunteering in detention centers, or just having fun with friends.

Currently, they work with artists like Lecrae, GAWVI, Andy Mineo, Tedashii, WHATUPRG, among others.
