EMPOWERING HIT SONG "FIRES" FROM NEWCOMER JORDAN ST. CYR IMPACTS RADIO FOR MORE THAN A YEAR
NEWS SOURCE: Merge PR July 14, 2021
14 July 2021 - Nashville, Tenn / Seattle, WA - "Fires," the empowering single from BEC Recordings artist and songwriter Jordan St. Cyr, has made an astounding debut at radio. While appearing on the Billboard Christian Airplay charts for 45 weeks and climbing to No. 5, "Fires" has been played on major networks and stations for more than a year, reaching 7.7+ million people a week.
Written by St. Cyr "Fires" is one of the featured songs on his recently released EP, Be My Defender. Fans will get the opportunity to hear the song live when he's out on tour this fall. Official details will be announced shortly.
St. Cyr co-wrote "Fires" with Micah Kuiper and Krissy Nordhoff two years ago after attending a Tin Pan South event in Nashville. He was inspired by a young man named Nathan who also attended the event while working as the evening's valet. Nathan was so touched by the message of the songs that were performed that he left a note, thanking the songwriters for the hope he had been given. The note ended up being shared by one of the songwriters on social media and it went viral. The young man was working three jobs and about to lose everything he owned, yet enough money was quickly raised to save his home and pay off debt.
"Looking back," St. Cyr shares, "I realize now that God gave me Nathan’s story so I could walk through mine...to help me along the way and allow my faith to rise up, to know God has not left me in this trial. Rather, He is walking it with me, guiding me through the pain and refining and purifying my heart that I may know Him more.”
He adds, "The impact Fires made over the last year has been remarkable. Watching the song’s message resonate with so many, along with its long life at radio, is really the testament of our deep need for God’s nearness in every season of life."
The "Fires" official music video, along with an acoustic version of the song from St. Cyr's White Room Sessions, can be viewed below.

In his artist and writing career, he has worked alongside many amazing songwriters, producers, and artists who have encouraged him along his journey, while also working closely with Compassion Canada and considers it an honor to share the message of releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
Over the years, St. Cyr has had the opportunity to play numerous events from homes to churches, festivals, as well as his own concerts, and it has been revealed to him, humanity’s deep desire for meaningful connection and the hope to find something more vibrant than our current reality. "Fires"continues on that pursuit of hope, even in our darkest moments, to know that God gives us stories to share and encourage one another through our fires, to give strength in the midst of them.
