NASHVILLE, TENN. (OCTOBER 08, 2021) Curb | Word Entertainment artist Dan Bremnes escapes to an island getaway of his dreams on "Run Away With Me," out today (10/8). The Canadian-born songwriter and his wife, Britt, documented their last-minute vacation to Belize in a stunning music video for the romantic track, filmed safely on a private island during the pandemic. Catch a glimpse of their tropical paradise and more of the incredible story behind their unexpected trip HERE, captured by videographer Jon Steingard.
The award-winning singer/songwriter has circled the globe, having visited 26 countries and counting. Not even a global health crisis could stop his sense of adventure. So when quarantine sidelined travel and touring opportunities, the father of two did the only thing he knew to do. He started dreaming.
"I wrote 'Run Away With Me' at the height of the pandemic when all dreams felt cancelled," shares Bremnes, who penned the song with former Tenth Avenue North frontman Mike Donehey and Justin Amundrud. "We asked ourselves, 'Where would we go with the one we love right now?' This song is about dreaming impossible dreams in impossible times."
The ocean-view visual for "Run Away With Me" is proof that, with some hard work, a little bit of risk and a lot of hope, fantasy really can become reality. Between the loss of work due to the pandemic and renovations on a new home in Nashville, even if jetting off to an exotic locale were possible, Bremnes couldn't afford it. Regardless, he took a chance and emailed the owner of a vacation rental property with some ideas for a music video to match the aesthetic of his new song. Miraculously, the owner - a fan of Bremnes' hit, "Up Again" - came back with a generous offer to let Bremnes and his wife stay on his private island to shoot the video...for free. Three weeks and two COVID tests later, the couple was frolicking on the beach - a testament to what can happen when you dare to dream.
Now, through his new music and his personal experiences, Bremnes is encouraging fans around the world to dream up their own adventures as they realize that anything is possible. You can follow his family's globetrotting odyssey on Instagram @danbremnes.
