May 5 2023 – Nashville, TN – Multi-artist community Songs From the Soil launches their self-titled debut album titled "Songs From the Soil," a project that seeks to unearth the unique sounds and stories of the UK Church. Drawing from an array of British artists, songwriters, and worship leaders come 10 homegrown songs marked by raw musicality and folksy vibes.

Through this new creative community is born a desire for revival – to hear voices all around the world singing in their local context. The new album’s lead track, "Send the Rain," encapsulates not only a unified prayer of faith for culture change, but also propels the listeners forward into action. With every chorus chant there lies hope that God will fulfill His promises right where we stand today.

Serving both as melodies of pastoral care and prophetic challenge, these acoustic-led songs encourage the Church to write anew within its local contexts. Filled with emotion and folk sounds, these songs are united by one shared vision: to cultivate beauty in the context of local worship.

Songs From The Soil exists to reignite the UK Church’s songbook by creating fertile spaces where new songs of worship might grow. They seek to gather as a community and inspire songwriters and worship leaders from all over the UK to craft songs infused with the flavor of their local context, capturing a return to the land through melodies and sung theology.

Songs From The Soil is comprised of Steph Macleod, Rich DiCastiglione, Philippa Hanna, Noel Robinson, Nathan Jess, Graham Kendrick, Marc James, Jodie Alexander-Frye, Lucy Grimble, Emmanuel Smith, Kate Cooke, Sophia Mitchell, Henry Milne, Junior Garr, , and Tom Smith.

Their heartbeat is to cultivate a garden of songs from and for the local Church, nurturing a new vibrant hymnal to the Lord, a hymnal of songs rooted in a particular place, and a particular time.
