August 18, 2023

Today, multi-talented singer and Bethel Music artist David Funk has released the Beauty EP which includes two new versions of his single “Beauty.” The additional versions include a stunning spontaneous live version called “Beauty/We Fall Down” as well as an intimate acoustic version recorded as part of Bethel Music’s on-going Pine Street Sessions. Originally appearing on Come Up Here “Beauty” serves as a reminder that God sent his son in his image to earth to allow us to know Him. Listen to the Beauty EP HERE.

"One of the main themes of Beauty is how Jesus came to reveal the Father to us: through His life, His death, and His resurrection,” shares David. “We were inspired by, and tried to capture the heart of, Colossians 1:15-20, as well as the opening of John 1 which says -In response to this revelation of the Lord; seeing Him in all his majesty, we can’t help but join the unending song that the angels and saints sing continually before his throne. My hope is that through this song listeners are reminded of the gift that it is to know Jesus and through Him, the Father himself."

Hailing from North Georgia, David Funk first joined the Bethel Music Collective in 2020. He grew up watching his father play piano on worship teams at their local church and started playing guitar himself at a young age and began leading worship in high school. David first led "Touch of Heaven / Alabaster Heart (Live)" on a Sunday night at Bethel Church and experienced an anointed, holy moment. As Funk's first single with Bethel Music, the song introduced him in his truest element - ushering in high praise and keeping the focus on Jesus. This song invites the listener to surrender again and again- leaving everything at the feet of Jesus. He also appears on Bethel Music's albums Homecoming (2021) singing, "Son Of Suffering,” Simple (2022) singing, "Our Jesus," and Come Up Here singing “Beauty.” David thrives in an environment where everyone is passionately worshiping Jesus. His dream is to lead people into the presence of God, where every person present is solely focused on Him.

About Bethel Music

Bethel Music is a worship movement dedicated to pursuing the presence of God and capturing fresh expressions of worship out of Redding, California. Since forming in 2001, Bethel Music has grown from a local church music ministry to a global collective of songwriters, artists, and musicians. The movement was co-founded by Brian and Jenn Johnson with a mission to raise up worshippers who take hold of their true identity and pursue intimacy with God above all else.

The Bethel Music collective has released 17 worship albums each of which carry a unique theme and feature some of the most recognized artists in the genre, the most recent releases being Homecoming (2021), Peace, Vol. II (2021), and Simple (2022). In 2021, the label was nominated for 6 Dove Awards, followed by another 11 in 2022, spanning categories from Songwriter of the Year and Worship Album of the Year to Inspirational and Rock/Contemporary Songs of the Year.

As a youthful label of only 13 years, Bethel Music has broken records, consistently ranking in CCLI’s top 25 songs since 2013. Most notably “Goodness of God” holds the record for most weeks at No. 1 with 68 weeks and “This Is Amazing Grace” has ranked in the 25 songs since 2014, “No Longer Slaves” since 2016, and “The Lion and the Lamb” since 2017. In addition, “Reckless Love” has appeared in the top 10 since 2018 and “Living Hope” in the top 10 since 2019. Hitting a new stride over the last few years, Bethel Music has continually ranked at #6 in the top 10 radio market share.

In 2023, Bethel Music released their most ambitious album to date, Come Up Here. The project, two years in the making, was recorded in the heart of the Redwoods of Northern California and embodies everything that Bethel Music stands for musically, lyrically, and visually.
