Denver, CO; Detroit, MI - “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” [2 Timothy 3:14-15]
Rarely, in the world of Christian hip-hop today, are there projects focused solely on giving listeners verse after verse of top-tier lyricism. For the debut EP from BASECAMP (Procyse and Rich Colón) that is exactly what has happened.
“It’s a collection of songs produced by Knaladeus,” explained Procyse. “‘First and Four’ is a simple play on this being our first project and being four songs long.”
Over four tracks, BASECAMP goes hard into two things that the duo is passionate about. First and foremost is delivering the Gospel to all who will hear followed up by presenting it in a way that even the most hardcore of hip-hop heads can’t deny. The wordplay and grittiness of First and Four easily make it one of the best debuts of 2023.
Produced exclusively by Knaladeus (Menace Movement) Procyse and Rich Colón continue adding to the legacy that is being built by indie imprint Polished Arrow Music. Their debut single “ALL CAPS” was met with acclaim in the CHH space, including being added to the official Rapzilla playlist.
Included alongside the single are the tracks “Only You,” “Sun Dials,” and “Follow You.” The compact project boasts plenty of potential and excitement for what is to come. Procyse and Rich Colón are creating plenty of momentum heading into 2024.
Now, just in time for the holidays, listeners get the full BASECAMP experience via First and Four.
The EP hits digital music platforms on October 27, 2023.
