NOVEMBER 22, 2023 – Tulsa, OK – It has been over eight years since the Tulsa-based Christian rock band, Pillar, released their seventh studio and crowd-funded record, One Love Revolution. The release was lauded by critics and described by one, as a ‘great comeback record.’ It also marked the return of four of the band’s longtime “core” members, including lead vocalist, Rob Beckley; bassist, Michael “Kalel” Wittig; guitarist, Noah Henson; and drummer, Lester Estelle II. Since dropping the album in August 2015, the band has been on an indefinite hiatus, with its members pursuing careers in full-time church ministry, bodybuilding and acting, and even taking stage and touring with top-tier mainstream music artists. Even though the album proved to be a critical success and one that is still beloved by fans old and new – the band was never able to truly go out on the road and tour to support it. It’s been over nine years since we’ve seen Pillar perform, so the time has finally come for the band to make its long-awaited and highly anticipated return to the stage!
Today, the announcement was made that Pillar would be one of the many bands performing and headlining in 2024 at the popular and long-running, Alive Music Festival. The festival will take place at Atwood Lake Park in Mineral City, OH, from July 18-20, 2024. Not only will the fans be thrilled about the band hitting the stage once again, but the upcoming performance has also created a lot of excitement and buzz within the band as well. Pillar founding member and lead singer Rob Beckley says, “That era of Pillar [One Love Revolution] never really seemed to have a solid punctuation at the end.” He continues to say, “It always felt like there was “…” at the end. Now we know why! It’s time to reload!” Bassist Michael “Kalel” Wittig added, “I have missed jamming with my friends for a very long time. I know this would eventually happen in God’s perfect timing. I guess I better get to practicing… and stretching for a rock show!”
Alive CEO Ken Ferguson added, “We are so hyped to have Pillar back to the Alive Music Festival this summer! The fact that the band would pick Alive as one of their only live shows in 2024 is quite an honor. They are true rock legends, and they have been a friend to Alive for many years.”
