Listen to “Dead Or Alive Pt. 2" now here.
September 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter in Tedashii’s story — a time to tell of the fight for his life as he was faced with the decision to live or to die. In the fight of his life, Tedashii’s project “Dead or Alive Pt. 1” begins to recount the pain and trials he’s battled, leaving a highly-anticipated end of the story. Now, in March of 2023, Tedashii has come through the fire and is singing a different song. One of victory, hope and authenticity. Following the fight for his life, Tedashii is now truly living in the present with the plan to be exactly who he feels called to be.
In the focus track, “Pop Up”, Tedashii vulnerably delivers raps over a peaceful piano melody saying, “I thought nobody cared if Crae and Trip weren’t at the show, but no matter who is with me, He’s the reason that I go.” This is a declaration that Tedashii is no longer doubting his purpose and that there is a reason for him being where he is. "Dead Or Alive Pt. 2" in its entirety displays the fruit of Tedashii’s endurance through the fight for his life and finalizes that his decision has been made. There is no question now: He chooses life.
"This series for me was truly about claiming victory over the enemy. I can recount a handful of times in my life where the devil literally attempted to take my life. By God's grace I've survived and in many cases outside of my own strength been saved. But outside of this, God has shown me that in my day to day I even have the same choice. To live and not to die," says Tedashii. "I choose abundant life, and I hope the stories I share through this music remind other people that they can make that same choice. I believe that if you wake up and you have breath in your lungs, God is not done with you. What He has for you is good. So chase after it."
See the track-list below:
Surpassing four million streams to date, "Dead Or Alive Pt.1" has captivated fans with Tedashii’s storytelling and topical explorations of mental health, struggles with injustice and very real warfare with the enemy as he goes through his healing journey and Pt. 2 is here to tell the rest of the story.
Tedashii explains, "At several points in my own life, I've felt crushed under the weight of so many hardships and I've even attempted to end it all. It was in that moment I was faced with a choice, to live or die. Dead Or Alive is my journey of choosing to live, while saying to the listener what I said to myself: dead or alive, you decide."
Now that he has shared his darkest life experiences, Tedashii is motivated knowing he's still here and God still has a purpose for him. He's also hopeful that his story will resonate with people who have had a similar experience and encourage them to choose life abundantly as he has.
