NASHVILLE, TENN. (April 19, 2024) – The dynamic husband-and-wife duo, Darin and Brooke Aldridge are the Talk of the Town with their latest release out now. Known for their impeccable harmonies and virtuosic instrumentation, the release coincides with their soulful rendition of Chris Hillman’s (Desert Rose Band) classic, “Price I Pay,” claiming the coveted #1 spot on the Bluegrass Today’s Weekly Airplay Chart. The highly anticipated album, Talk of The Town, is poised to elevate Darin & Brooke’s already stellar reputation in the bluegrass scene. Listen now HERE.
The 12-track album, crafted with passion and precision, showcases Darin & Brooke’s exceptional talent and unwavering dedication to the bluegrass genre. Bluegrass and Country legend Ricky Skaggs, Mark Fain, and Mo Pitney join them on the Gospel classic “Jordan”, a previously-released, critically-acclaimed collaboration that hit #1 on the Singing News national Bluegrass Gospel chart and reached over 1 million streams earlier this year.
Other tracks such as “Same Ole New Love,” “My Favorite Picture of You,” and “It Can’t Be Wrong,” showcase Brooke Aldridge as her lilting vocals capture the essence of perfection as only a 4x IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year can. Darin Aldridge nails wonderful harmonies and adds stellar musicianship making them one of the richest sounding duos in music today. Darin steps out in a duet with Vince Gill on the heartwrencher “A Million Memories (song for Byron)” a song Gill penned about fiddle player Byron Berline who passed away in 2021 and is credited for bringing Gill into bluegrass music. Along with Vince Gill, the duo enlists the virtuosic talents of esteemed 3x ACM Guitarist of the Year John Jorgenson (Desert Rose Band, The Hellecasters, Elton John, Tommy Emmanuel, The Byrds, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams Jr., Barbra Streisand, Luciano Pavarotti, Roy Orbison, Patty Loveless, Michael Nesmith, John Prine, and Bonnie Raitt) on the aforementioned “Price I Pay”.
Darin and Brooke Aldridge stated, “We’ve always liked to think of music in a different way than just being a certain genre. For us, to pigeonhole music into this category or that, is limiting for both music and its listeners, because then the true beauty and nuances of music as a whole can be lost. It’s like being trapped inside a bubble that won’t burst!
It’s a great feeling to realize we’ve reached a pivotal point in our career where we have spent years crafting and honing our sound into what is undeniably “Darin and Brooke.” It is wonderful when fans old and new tell us they can immediately identify our songs on the radio before our names even pop up!
We are proud of Talk of the Town because it is the Darin and Brooke sound people have come to love from us, plus much more. We believe that a kaleidoscope of musical colors are captured here for music lovers of all styles, delivered in a new light that remains quintessentially Darin and Brooke Aldridge.”
Creative Director of Billy Blue Records, Jerry Salley, added, “One of the greatest blessings of running Billy Blue Records is the opportunity to represent the unique and refreshing bluegrass style of Darin and Brooke Aldridge. Established as one of the very top acts in our genre, their latest project, Talk of the Town, is vintage Darin & Brooke, chalked full of absolutely great songs supported by their award winning vocals and picking. Whether you’re a long-time follower, or simply curious about the sound of Darin and Brooke Aldridge, Talk Of The Town is sure to grow their incredible fan base!”
Produced by Mark Fain and Darin Aldridge and featuring the immense musical/vocal talents of Samantha Snyder, Mark Fain, Stuart Duncan, Ron Block, Cody Kilby, Eddie Dunlap, Jacob Metz, Lynn Williams, Darin Aldridge, Brooke Aldridge, Lauren Mascitti, John Jorgenson, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, and Moe Pitney, this album shines brightly in a way that will leave listeners in awe as Darin & Brooke Aldridge push the boundaries of bluegrass music while staying true to its rich traditions.
