Boston, MA - “Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth, and praise was on my tongue. If I had been aware of malice in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. However, God has listened; he has paid attention to the sound of my prayer.” [Pslams 66:16-19]
A history of gang culture, struggles with mental health issues, and surviving the influence of the mainstream music industry is only the preface to the story of Christian hip hop artist Bir Witness’ life.
His incredible journey caught the attention of TBN.
The network, who has represented many well-known pastors across the United States including TD Jakes and Joel Osteen, offered to support the release of a memoir of Bir Witness’ experiences, not only giving insight to the music industry, but the darker and more personal aspects of his past.
Having faced the symptoms of both bipolar disorder and schizophrenia head-on, Bir Witness has seen his life be changed completely thanks to his encounter with Christ.
With the support of his wife, the two now work side by side in ministry, Bir Witness accepted the Christian faith and realized that everything that has happened for his good is thanks to Jesus the Creator and Redeemer. ‘
“I was walking on the highway, cars racing past, trucks beeping their horns and swerving away from my suicidal self. I was lost in the city, and I honestly forgot how I ended up in Boston around the homeless. ‘You have a good head on your shoulders,’ said the poor old man. ‘Go home,’ said another. Instead, I treated myself like I did not have a house in the suburbs. I ran away from my parents and wanted freedom on these streets. I lost touch with reality when I went off my many medications at the time and found false identity in…” [Exert from My Megaverse Is Christ]
Now Bir Witness is sharing his truth of hope and reconciliation with all who will listen, or in this case read it, with his new book My Megaverse Is Christ: A Memoir That Brought Me Closer to God.
My Megaverse Is Christ is currently available for pre-order with most major retailers nationwide, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart. It is set to be available in book stores both nationally and internationally on April 30, 2024.
With music being a part of his life since he was 15, Bir Witness has gained plenty of experience on every aspect of the music industry over the past two decades. Having worked with heavyweights in both the secular and Christian markets, his insight into growing as an artist is quite valuable to those that are still finding not only themselves, but navigating the difficult waters of an ever-changing industry.
Developing new relationships in the Christian hip hop world, Bir Witness still builds with everyone, only now he is planting the seeds of Christ so that individuals can encounter his Lord and Savior.
It may have taken him three years, but Bir Witness is finally at a place where he can speak on mental illness, healing, and his passion for music while putting the glory in its proper place. Included in the memoir is a three-page forward by Bir Witness’ pastor and she is excited to be able to share its message with the world!
Be sure to pick up a copy of My Megaverse Is Christ by Bir Witness to be blessed and inspired by the story of redemption and renewal. This book is sure to connect with a variety of readers, both believers and those who are still searching alike.
Introduced to the Gangster Disciples at the age of 17yrs old, Bir Witness joined the gang two years later and didn't stop participating in the organization until the age of 37 with the help of his pastors and church. He was baptized in November 2022, with strong faith he would be delivered from falsehood accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The enemy attacked with an army of demonic forces and Bir Witness was participating in the GDs again throwing up gang signs in front of stores and even churches, possessed by evil he didn't stop until he completely surrendered to God’s will.
Now Bir Witness drops testimonial albums including the project Apple of God’s Eye released in January of this year. With more clarity and understanding of his past infliction, he is now walking in freedom and helping other gang members give their lives over to Christ.
