Shelton, CT - “My life is constantly in danger, yet I do not forget your instruction. The wicked have set a trap for me, but I have not wandered from your precepts. I have your decrees as a heritage forever; indeed, they are the joy of my heart. I am resolved to obey your statutes to the very end.” [Psalms 119:109-112]
As we navigate the roads of life, there are plenty of distractions that aim to throw us off course. Even when we have the best intentions, we must remain vigilant in order to counter the temptations that appear seemingly out of nowhere. Luckily, for believers in Christ, we have a Spirit of truth as a companion that can help us see past the distractions and remained focused on the true purpose of This Life.
“I wanted to reflect on some of the layers I’ve navigated, filtered through my faith, alongside my brother, YP. This journey isn’t easy, but we walk it by the grace of God! I am a product of grace and will continue to live for the one who has kept me in every season.” - Joseph SD
Joseph SD has been steadily carving out his spot within the resurgence of the gritty scene within Christian hip hop. The Connecticut emcee has dropped bars alongside the top spitters in the genre, including featuring on the acclaimed 2023 project ‘Ninety Nine’ by producer Ayo Shamir.
Joseph’s latest single features YP aka Young Paul and showcases his skills as artist, producer, and engineer. This Life hits digital streaming platforms on May 3, 2024.
This Life is driven by a nostalgic feel as Joseph SD and YP relive their past experiences and how they were brought to the foot of the cross for a purpose.
Over mellow piano chords and crisp boom bap drums, the duo of SD and the Guillotine flow with brutal honesty and unshaken conviction. The record is reminiscent of classic hip hop tracks with its ability to cut through the distractions of life and penetrate to the heart of the listener, stirring feelings that every individual is able to connect with. It is simply and expression of life.
As we are heading into the heart of 2024, Joseph SD is establishing himself as an artist to watch throughout the remainder of the year with this single.
This Life is the perfect addition to your inspirational playlist. Be sure to add it on your favorite music listening platform!
