Going from never hearing the original Above the Clouds debut project to remixing the album, Yasad One and Above the Clouds are dropping a new take on one of Christian rap’s most critically acclaimed debuts of the past five years.
The Righteous Remixes is available across digital streaming platforms beginning on May 28, 2024.
‘The Righteous’ fostered the return of the producer and emcee duo to the CHH genre at a time when solo artists dominated the landscape. As veteran creatives, rapper iNTELLECT and beat maker Tae Lamar were able to demonstrate that the influence of hip hop’s golden era was still relevant in the modern music industry. With boom bap rooted beats and skilled wordplay, ‘The Righteous’ stood out as a testament to the staying power of 90s nostalgia.
On The Righteous Remixes, producer Yasad One gives the album a new feel by incorporating his own unique touch to the project’s overall sound.
Guest features on the project include CHH legend Mouthpi3ce, fellow Polished Arrow Music artist JusJames, and longtime iNTELLECT collaborator - DJ Sean P. After proposing the idea of a remix version of the album, Yasad One took the best elements, from a project that he had only recently heard, and provided a facelift that not only elevates but stays true to the original spirit of the album.
