NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Inviting believers from all backgrounds and cultures to find common ground in the “House of God,” WieRok Entertainment recording artist
Sean Rodriguez bows one of his most personal singles to date. Drawing inspiration from the ministry of his grandfather, Pastor William A. Rodriguez, who has shepherded a diverse congregation in Denver’s inner-city for more than 40 years, “House of God” is
now available on streaming platforms.
A testament to the power of worship as a catalyst for unity, the potent pop track was produced by Nick Schwarz and co-penned by Rodriguez, Schwarz and Tony Wood.
“This song celebrates my experience being raised in my grandpa’s church,” Rodriguez shares. “I saw former gang members, drug dealers, cons and the like, all worshiping alongside families and young adults from all walks of life—all praising God together. Growing up, this was church, and it helped shape who I am today.”
Accompanying the release of “House of God” is a moving music video. Directed by Joe Cedillo, the clip spotlights Pastor Rodriguez and members of his Denver church. “The ‘
glory, glory hallelujah’ intro at the very beginning of the video is my grandfather singing,” Sean Rodriguez explains. “It’s so fitting to start the clip with his voice because it signifies how he led the way for me in ministry. In the second verse, Pastor Grandpa invites me up to lead worship after he preaches, and I think that’s an awesome depiction of the ministries God has called each of us into.”
“‘House of God’ ultimately reminds me of the important role church plays in my life, and I hope it can be used to encourage people to get back into a good church and find that joyful experience again,” Rodriguez adds.
The song will be among six tracks comprising Rodriguez’s debut EP,
Jesus Will, which is slated for release this fall. In addition, he is currently performing “House of God” to audiences across the country as part of his “Jesus Will Summer Tour.” The multi-city outing, which features Rodriguez backed by a full band for the first time, will include stops at such leading festivals as Kingdom Bound, Agape Fest, Elevation Fest and Unity Fest, among others.
