Nashville, TN - May 31, 2024 - Singer-songwriter Rachel Hale embraces her country roots on her latest single, “Just Breathe (Daddy’s Song),” out today.
With a narrative grounded in faith and a father’s love, Hale poured her heart and soul into “Just Breathe (Daddy’s Song).” The song captures the essence of a father's love, wisdom and unwavering support through life's highs and lows. With poignant lyrics, a captivating melody, text painting and her signature vocal depth, Hale's latest release is poised to resonate with listeners of all ages, giving them space to take in the beauty that surrounds them and relax in the arms that hold them through every moment.
Co-written with acclaimed songwriter Derek Winkley and produced by Grammy and Dove award-winning engineer Jonathan Crone, the song is a touching tribute to the profound impact her father made on her life, instilling a spirit of faith, hope and trust that carries her daily.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Hale shared, “I sat down to write for the first time with Derek Winkley, and he brought in this killer melodic hook for the opening of the chorus of ‘Just Breathe.’ It immediately brought forth memories of my father, and the words for the song fell out. This was one of the easiest songs I have ever written because it is all a true story.”

Hale’s father will be celebrating his 87th birthday this July and 38 years married to his wife and Rachel’s mother in August. Throughout her childhood, he taught her to savor the simple things–a value that shines in the single.
“My father played a pivotal role in shaping my outlook and values, and I still feel that impact today,” said Hale. “He is the best father I could have ever asked for, never missing a basketball game, track meet, dance recital or vocal performance. His gift of finding the silver lining in each circumstance trained my eye to do the same.”
“Just Breathe (Daddy’s Song)” is Hale's tribute to her relationship with her father and to fathers everywhere who selflessly dedicate themselves to their families. With its heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring melody, the song serves as a reminder of the enduring bond between fathers and their children.
