Nashville, Tenn. (December 6, 2024) — Curb Records band Sidewalk Prophets drops convicting ballad “I Apologize” today (12/6) — listen HERE. As their final release of 2024, “I Apologize” continues the group’s journey toward their fifth studio album, Looking Up, arriving Feb. 14, 2025. Fans can pre-save, pre-add and pre-order the forthcoming collection HERE.

Grappling with pride, Sidewalk Prophets confesses their shortcomings on “I Apologize,” issuing a humble apology for the many ways we, as Christ followers, let our misguided judgements or stubborn self-righteousness dictate our response. As the chart-topping outfit attests, people often miss Jesus because we don’t represent Him well; and sometimes, the best thing we can do is offer these simple words: “I’m sorry.” The piano-led, string-laden selection was written by frontman Dave Frey, along with Ben McDonald, Jonathan Gamble, and Justin Richards; and produced by Mark Campbell, as well as Sidewalk Prophets members Cal Joslin and Dan Macal.

“This song was inspired by a girl who was raised in the church, and through a series of heartbreaking events, ended up being disowned by her family and everyone she loved and trusted,” Frey shares. “What do you say to someone who put their faith in the church, only to have their life destroyed by the people representing it? ‘I am sorry’ is a small, but good start.”

Sidewalk Prophets kicks off their beloved “Great Big Family Christmas” tour tonight (12/6) in Traverse City, Mich. The band will make a dozen festive stops before wrapping the annual run in Farmville, Va., on Dec. 22, 2024. A full itinerary is included below.
