Ruther Glen, VA - “So if anyone purifies himself from anything dishonorable, he will be a special instrument, set apart, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” [2 Timothy 2:21-22]

The final day of 2024 brings the last in a trio of albums released by Virginia emcee Pacaso Ramirez this calendar year.

“Releasing three projects in one calendar year is something I’ve never accomplished. It’s a huge feat, basically proving to myself that I can put out quality music, track after track, at a high level” - Pacaso Ramirez

‘Fundamentally Different’ is Ramirez’s third project of 2024 and 21st overall since 2005.

Fundamentally Different (adverb) - having primary or central principles that exceed or separate an entity from common or basic practices.

Pacaso Ramirez is an emcee who makes a different brand of hip-hop music. It’s not, what many would call, today’s CHH; nor is it categorized within the secular genre. His music is personal. Every song has a purpose, a vision, and a statement.

On Fundamentally Different, Ramirez returns to his roots after a career that spans multiple decades.

Fundamentally Different finds Ramirez front and center as artist features are minimal on the project. This starkly contrasts his previous releases in 2024 (‘Before Chaos Descends,’ ‘SoCal Circa82’), which were very feature-heavy.

“I only have three features on this album, that means a lot,” explains Ramirez.

With 18 tracks total, Fundamentally Different is a milestone in an already impressive catalog. The album represents Ramirez not only as an artist but as a human and a believer in Jesus Christ.

Throughout the album, Ramirez wrestles with questions of faith while holding on to the truth God has given to those who follow him. This raw approach discards the opinions of the world in favor of sanctification. Ramirez’s voice is confident, proving he is an emcee who is not seeking anyone’s approval except for the one who created him.

About Pacaso Ramirez

With a catalog that is 21 albums deep, and a history in Christian Hip Hop that stems all the way back to 2005, Pacaso Ramirez is a weathered emcee with nothing to lose. In 2014, after years of working in many groups and releasing many solo projects, Pacaso's evolving vision and connection with fellow emcee Marlon Marshall led to a partnership with the record label "Blood Related Entertainment." After a seven-year run, Blood Related Entertainment decided to shut down the label due to inactivity and a lack of enthusiasm from the label as a whole. This, however, did not deter Pacaso from continuing to write, record features, and executive produce other albums for fellow artists. In 2023, after a three-year hiatus, Pacaso released the 17-track "A Million Little Things" with “Before Chaos Descends”, “SoCal Circa82”, and “Fundamentally Different” releasing all within the year of 2024. At 42 years of age, Pacaso continues to carry the same passion about his music that he did when he started 30-plus years ago. The signature growl in his vocals and his unwavering passion continue to nourish the foundation of longevity, fueling a fire to bring creative compelling lyrics over hard-hitting Boom Bap production with a Christ-like and Biblical Perspective.
