For Immediate Release (Monroe, GA) — Christian Music industry veteran, Barbara Eason King, passed away on January 6, 2025 near her home in Monroe, Georgia.
After graduating from Clayton State University near Atlanta, King began her career in Christian Music in 1987 and worked with several record labels over the course of her career. She served as Director of Radio Promotions for Benson Records, where she achieved numerous #1 radio hits and top ten songs for various artists.
She later served as a Director of Marketing on the Provident Music Group Family of Labels team that represented Reunion Records, Benson Records, and Diadem Records artists including Michael W. Smith, Clay Crosse, Kathy Troccoli, NewSong, and Bob Carlisle.
In the past few years, King founded her own marketing agency and worked with the American Marketing Association.
"I met Barb King nearly 35 years ago when I joined the marketing team at Benson Music Group," says industry veteran, Dennis Disney. "In the eight years we worked together, she distinguished herself as a person of great skill, tremendous enthusiasm, and deep faith. Her intense work ethic was surpassed only by her tenacious integrity and undeniable love for her family. She will be greatly missed on this side of heaven."
King's faith sustained her during difficult trials and medical issues in her life and in the lives of her husband of 32 years, Reverend Dean King, as well as her beloved daughter, Olivia Grace King. King was passionate about ministering to others, striving to uplift and encourage people along their faith journeys. She recently wrote on her Facebook page: "God draws near to us when our eyes get off Him and onto our circumstances. Every day is a gift. We are allowed one more time to get it right and do the things God has called us to do and not get caught up in our selfish behavior and desires. This morning I was realizing the cost the disciples gave to obtain that trust in God. I would like to be there at some point in the legacy of my life, but I am not sure what brings forth such trust and understanding. I am grateful for each day to live more fully for God."
Funeral services to celebrate King’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. EST in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. The Reverend Joe Marsh, Reverend David Lyle and Reverend Charles Barwick will officiate. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. EST in the same location.
