Nashville, TN (February 13, 2025) - Singer-songwriter and military veteran George Case delivered a stirring rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner at the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) Change of Command Ceremony on February 10, 2025, at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. This prestigious event marked the transition of leadership from Maj. Gen. Frank M. Rice to Maj. Gen. Richard A. Wholey Jr. as the new commanding general of the 263rd AAMDC.

As a South Carolina native with a rich military background, George Case was deeply honored to lend his voice to the ceremony, paying tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense Command. Case’s performance set the tone for an event steeped in tradition, recognizing the service and leadership of both outgoing and incoming commanders.

“It’s always a privilege to honor our servicemen and women, especially in a moment as significant as a change of command,” said Case. “Having served in multiple countries throughout my military career, I understand firsthand the dedication and sacrifice of these leaders. Singing the national anthem at this event was a moment I will never forget.”

Case’s life and ministry have been shaped by a unique blend of military service and musical heritage. Raised in the foothills of South Carolina, he grew up surrounded by faith and music, eventually carrying his passion across the globe. His service took him to Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Czech Republic, and Israel, experiences that have influenced his artistry and deepened his connection to the military community.

The 263rd AAMDC plays a critical role in homeland defense, with a mission to provide strategic air and missile defense operations. The change of command ceremony, a time-honored tradition in military leadership, signifies a seamless transition of authority and responsibility within the unit.
