NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 28, 2024) - Husband and wife duo Alabaster Grace, comprised of Brad Perry, a highly decorated former NASA rocket scientist, and Joanie Perry a long-time educator, have released their latest single, "I Will Trust In You."
Written and recorded in a Middle Eastern style, the acoustically-driven song transports listeners to a place in the Holy Land where Jesus might have walked.
"I Will Trust In You," produced by Corey Pavlosky of Pipe Dream Studios, features Joanie Perry, the duo's primary vocalist, sharing lead vocals with Brad Perry, who sings the main melody in the second verse. Brad Perry’s electric lead guitar is prominent throughout, while hand drums pound out a haunting rhythm, and a flute plays poignantly in the distance.
“Working with Alabaster Grace on ‘I Will Trust In You’ brought out subtle musical influences that I believe led to the best possible end product!” says Pavlosky.
“I Will Trust In You” is based on Lamentations 3:22-23: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
“I Will Trust In You” is one of the songs that has been in our catalog for quite some time," says Joanie Perry. "When difficulties occur in our personal lives, the melody of this song comes to the forefront of our minds."
"Whenever I listen to our new single, 'I Will Trust In You,' I think of the storms of life and waves crashing," says Brad Perry. "But I specifically recall the summer of 2024 when I was part of a crew that brought a sailboat back from Bermuda to Virginia, returning it to its home port after the Newport Bermuda Race. During our journey, we encountered some significant storms and high waves. As I prayed for our safety, I kept thinking of this song based on Lamentations 3:22-23. Our making this passage safely was a testimony of God’s faithfulness."
The new single comes on the heels of Brad Perry's appointment as the new pastor of Historic White Marsh Church in Lancaster, Virginia.
Brad Perry, who formerly served as the Associate Pastor at Historic White Marsh Church, has spent much of his career at NASA, where the award-winning rocket scientist was the Director of NASA's Science Support Office, a member of the design team of the International Space Station, and served as an astronaut instructor for the Space Shuttle. His exceptional work earned him two of NASA's highest honors—the Exceptional Service Medal and the Outstanding Leadership Medal.
“The Reverend Brad Perry served as the associate pastor at Historic White Marsh Church for most of 2024," says Reverend Wes Hall, who retired as the previous senior pastor of the church at the end of 2024.
"He and his wife, Joanie, have been a blessing to our church, and I have very much enjoyed serving the Lord with them," continues Reverend Hall. "Pastor Perry will be pastoring a church congregation that loves Jesus Christ, each other, and the Word of God. I believe that God will continue to bless Pastor Perry and the congregation as He has done so in the past.”
"I am very honored to have been called to serve as the pastor at Historic White Marsh Church," says Brad Perry. "Through serving as the associate pastor and working beside Pastor Wes Hall during 2024, I have grown to know and love the people of Historic White Marsh—they are very special. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as their pastor and to encourage everyone to grow in their faith walk serving Christ."
"I believe God has special plans for Historic White Marsh Church, for us to grow in our service within the local community and beyond," Brad Perry continues. "I look forward to seeing God's plans for our small church to serve in big ways, glorifying Him each step of the way!"
"When Brad was asked to become the church pastor, we both took significant time to pray and discern God's will. The result has been complete peace," says Joanie Perry. "God is doing something new in our ministry, and we are excited about this new chapter in our lives. I believe that God has anointed Brad to do this work in His Kingdom. To me, God has been preparing Brad his entire life for this special assignment, and I feel privileged to be walking alongside him on the journey."
