
South Jersey post-hardcore outlet Plead the Widow’s Cause will release its sophomore full-length album, Silver Glass Stare, on March 7, 2025. The album marks a bold evolution in the band’s sound, blending intricate post-hardcore melodies with raw, emotional intensity, showcasing a range of styles within the genre. This evolution also comes from recent lineup additions, Mitchell Layton (Pipe Bomb, Church Girls) on bass and Bill Finocchiaro (Nave) on drums.
Recorded at Nada Recording Studio in Montgomery, NY, with acclaimed producer John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Brand New, Senses Fail, etc.), Silver Glass Stare showcases the band's growth and musical depth. With 11 tracks that span themes of loss, redemption, hypocrisy, corporate greed, and self-reflection, the album is a raw, unapologetic statement that encapsulates the band's unique sound and vision.
Silver Glass Stare offers a captivating listening experience packed with punchy hooks, atmospheric breakdowns, and emotionally charged lyrics that blend classic post-hardcore energy with a refined edge. The sound is similar to their debut record, Pain Split but builds upon it and expands to offer more diversity, highlighting the band’s range of songwriting.
“We’re excited for everyone to hear the record from front to back.” says guitarist Brett Wanamaker. “We wanted to go against the grain of the streaming algorithms and back to a simpler time when you listened to albums in their entirety on release day. Which is why we’re not dropping any singles ahead of time and releasing the album in full on March 7th.”
The album will be available across all major streaming platforms and digital outlets on March 7, 2025, and CDs will be available on Bandcamp.
