Cleveland, Tennessee-based singer-songwriter Jessica Hitte has dropped an aggressive new Hip Hop diss track, “Audacity” (Tyscot Records). The bass-heavy groove finds her confidently recognizing who she is as a child of God, flinging off past insecurities and doubts. She proclaims that “the Devil is defeated” as she challenges his influence in her life and resolutely declares that he is “Lord of the flies, father of lies.” It's a spiritual clapback that falls in the vicinity of Drake’s “God’s Plan” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” to the self-assurance of Nicki Minaj & Beyoncé’s “Feeling Myself.” It’s an able addition to the library of streetwise Hip Hop with a Trap loop and a spiritual flavor. The infectious track has earned high praise from the hosts of SiriusXM’s Holy Culture program, Da Fixx Morning Radio Show. “This is a whole anthem, this is a chant, a king’s child chant,” DJ Focus proclaims in the show’s weekly review of new music. “This track is crazy,” his co-host Dice Gamble chimed in. “This is so empowering. the harmonies are beautiful. The writing is great. Because you can see the picture that she’s very clearly painting. The beat is strong and punchy…Everything worked together very well in this track. If you need a boost in your life, you need to put this track on right here because I think this will help you to go to that next level.”

“I wrote `Audacity’ during a season where I was under constant attack,” Hitte says. “I found myself constantly praying from a victim’s viewpoint until I felt the Lord asking me why I’m begging for what’s already mine. It checked me, helping me to remember exactly who I was: a King’s child. My confidence came rushing back and all my attitude shifted towards the enemy. I grabbed a pen, my weapon of choice, and started writing… `WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS?’ That line snowballed into the spiritual clapback you hear now.”
Writing Rounds Worship co-founder Jessica Hitte has carried on a parallel solo recording career over the last decade. It’s seen her step-out moments with the platinum-selling Maverick City Music, her collaboration with REVERE, and her bluegrass stomper, “Grave Clothes.” In 2024, she showcased an urban edge with the bouncy Hip Hop track, “Give Me Jesus.”
