Since original vocalist Stephen Christian stepped out of the band and was replaced with Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire), Anberlin hasn't slowed down. They released two new songs last year with Mullins on vocals on their latest full-length Vega, which united two previously-released EP's with Christian still on vocals, and then released a standlone single featuring Matty later in the year.

 

Now, to celebrate 20 years of the band's album Never Take Friendship Personal, the guys have re-recorded the album with Mullins at the mic, releasing it under the title Nevertake. The album is available now on digital platforms, and fans can preorder it on vinyl with an instant digital download today. The vinyl is slated to release May 30.

 

Bandmember Joseph Mulligan writes: 

"Never take Friendship Personal was a pivotal moment in our lives, not just our career. We came off of making our first record, and spent the next 2 years touring non-stop, which allowed us to find our sound. The process was stressful, filled with conflict, but what came of it was something we couldn’t have imagined.We found ourselves connecting with more people than we could imagine. Whether it be a connection to the music, or the lyrics making people feel seen, we pushed through our creative differences and made a record we continue to be proud of, and in constant awe of with the fan response.

 With this new endeavor, we’ve found new energy. We’ve seen our fans rally behind us and give us new life. Remaking this record was something we were so excited about, not to erase the past, but to forge a new future.
