North Chicago, IL - “Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. But if your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing, you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.” [Romans 12:19-21]
Tae Lamar is no stranger to the Christian hip-hop scene.
As the producer half of the duo ‘Above the Clouds’ (along with emcee iNTELLECT), Lamar has been a stalwart in the boom bap resurgence that has emerged within the CHH subgenre. The Chicago-based producer has worked with a myriad of artists over the years.
His new single, Vengeance, marks his first official, solo release on indie imprint Polished Arrow Music.
Vengeance hits digital streaming platforms on April 11, 2025, and features fellow Polished Arrow roster members Griffin (Tunnel Rats) and Procyse (Souljornerz, BASECAMP). Kair One provides cuts for the record as the single boldly showcases elements of golden-era hip-hop.
Lamar’s production is top-tier and exhibits the lyrical abilities of Griffin and Procyse as their expert-level pens shine on the track.
Based on Romans 12:19, Vengeance urges listeners not to seek revenge or retribution against others, as that responsibility belongs to the Lord.
The interaction of samples and cuts enhances the overall soundscape. The result is a track that begs to be blasted from your vehicle’s speakers. It is a great addition to your everyday playlist, so be sure to add it on your favorite music streaming service.
