Elle Limebear and Nathan Jess Collaborate on New Worship Single, "Before" - A Stirring Call to Praise God Whatever the Circumstances

"Before" is the second single from the Boundless project, which seeks to make music that recognises Gods presence in our everyday lives. Releasing on 20th June, ‘Before’ features Ellie Limebear and GRAMMY nominated songwriter Nathan Jess, who sing a powerful reminder to give thanks to God in all circumstances. The Boundless’ project is in a partnership with LICC (the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity) and Integrity Music.

It’s natural to respond to the circumstances and situations we find ourselves in; from news to notifications, our brains are wired to respond to what is happening around us. The song ‘Before’ encourages us to stretch our faith and to start with a posture of Praise.

Andy Flannagan, a writer on the song, said, “In response to Mark Greene’s (author and Mission Champion at LICC) challenging teaching about King David’s desire to let God into all areas of His life, even the mundane, and his impressive thankfulness in some challenging circumstances, the writers were inspired by the simple but profound line‘Before I receive, I give thanks’.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 says “Rejoice always, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. ‘Before’ invites us to lean into gratitude, not because we’ve seen the results, but because we know the One who goes before us is faithful. Whether you're waiting on a miracle or simply your morning coffee, this song calls you to worship before. Not after the miracle or mountaintop experience, but in the valley and in the waiting.

‘Before’ is the second single from Boundless EP - a collection of songs written to inspire people with the truth that God cares about every part of life. The aim is to provide the church with songs that affirm the kingdom value and purpose of our ordinary, everyday lives, from the smallest tasks to the biggest decisions.
