The worship group VIVA Worship, made up of the Roman brothers — Josiah, Chris, and Andrew — is stepping into the music scene with their new worship single, “Solo Él.” Originally written for their local church, the song is now being shared with the global Church through digital platforms.

Over the past few decades, Mexico has become a birthplace of influential artists who have transformed not only commercial music but also worship music. Staying true to that legacy, VIVA Worship — formed by the Roman brothers from Guadalajara, Mexico — is moving beyond the walls of their local church to share songs that were first written for their own services but have since found a home in other congregations and communities beyond their own.

As the sons of pastors and worship leaders, the Roman brothers were raised in a home filled with music—and more importantly, the presence of God. That atmosphere soon bore fruit in both their personal lives and their church. From a young age, all three brothers displayed musical talent and a deep commitment to serving God. With Josiah on guitar, Chris on drums, and Andrew on keyboard, they began cultivating a lifestyle that, according to them, isn’t about pursuing a music career — it’s about using music as a tool to lead God’s people in worship.

But music isn’t their only focus. Back home in Guadalajara, Josiah also pursued a passion for graphic design and audiovisual arts, and he earned a Theology degree from The King’s University in Dallas. Andrew also showed interest in theology, even participating in apologetics and public speaking competitions. Chris, on the other hand, has focused on real estate ventures, revealing a different side of his life beyond music.

While supporting their parents, Luis and Kristen — pastors of VIVA Church International in Dallas, Texas — the three brothers spent their time writing lyrics and melodies that they would lead during weekend worship services, making their original songs a regular part of church life. In 2017, they began a journey that started gaining traction in other churches, especially after the release of their debut single “Tú y Yo” in 2018. At the time, the Roman brothers had no idea what God had in store for them.

Even during the global pandemic, VIVA Worship stayed active, which played a key role in their growth. They continued writing songs, many of which were released digitally, helping solidify VIVA Worship’s presence and connect with a wider audience.

“It all started during a personal time of worship at the piano,” Andrew shares. “We believe that the most powerful words are God’s own, so we try to express the promises found in the Psalms through music.”

Chris adds, “We wanted these songs to be moments of embracing God’s truth—first by declaring what Scripture says, and then by singing those words personally.” Josiah agrees, saying, “Our context has always been the local church. Every song we write is with our congregation in mind. When we saw how much these songs were impacting our community, we felt it was time to share them. Our goal is to bring this message to the body of Christ worldwide so that people can have a life-changing encounter with Jesus.”

Today, VIVA Worship features Josiah as lead vocalist, Chris on drums, and Andrew on keys, supported by an excellent team of musicians and background vocalists. The group is now based in Dallas, Texas.

VIVA Worship just released “Solo Él,” a song that proclaims God’s protection over every person. Inspired by Psalm 91, the track was written in 2023 and developed over two years in their local church before officially releasing just a few days ago on all major digital platforms. The song is part of an upcoming album of the same name, set to release later this year, and is accompanied by a live session-style video now available on the VIVA Worship YouTube channel.
