NASHVILLE (July 25, 2025) — Jordan Smith, the soaring vocalist who first captivated America as the Season 9 winner of The Voice, brings his most personal project to living rooms everywhere starting today. The brand-new DVD edition of The People’s Hymnal, recorded live at Bill Gaither’s studio in Alexandria, Indiana, is out now via Gaither Music. A decade after winning The Voice, Smith calls this collection the most honest expression of who he is as both an artist and a believer. “I made this record for myself,” Smith says. “This time, the only concern was, ‘How would Jordan Smith sing this song?’ You can hear the freedom and joy in it.”
The People’s Hymnal DVD captures the spiritual power and emotional depth of the original studio album, now enhanced with an intimate visual performance that showcases Smith’s remarkable vocal range and moving storytelling. Fans can experience live renditions of gospel classics like “Oh Happy Day,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “His Eye Is On The Sparrow,” along with bonus tracks available exclusively on the DVD and TV special: “I’d Rather Have Jesus” and “It Is Well with My Soul.”
Co-produced by GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer Tommy Sims and award-winning musician Colin Linden, the studio album reimagines beloved hymns with a fresh blend of gospel, soul, and pop.
