WILMINGTON, NC — Girder Records is proud to continue its acclaimed Legends of Rock™ series with the long-awaited return of two landmark albums from Christian rock pioneers Geoff Moore & The Distance. For the first time in over 35 years, A Place to Stand (1988) and Foundations (1989) will be available on remastered CD—each limited to just 300 units worldwide.
These reissues follow Girder’s 2020 remastered releases of Geoff Moore’s first three albums (Where Are the Other Nine?, Over the Edge, and The Distance), bringing fans deeper into the late ’80s era when Moore’s anthemic voice and The Distance’s polished AOR sound were at the forefront of Christian rock.
Both albums have received the full Girder treatment: expertly remastered by Rob Colwell for maximum clarity and depth, redesigned layouts by Scott Waters, 8-page booklets housed in jewel cases, and exclusive trading cards—making them not just music, but collectible pieces of Christian rock history.
A Place to Stand (1988) – Legends of Rock™ Series
Originally released on ForeFront Records, A Place to Stand cemented Geoff Moore’s place as one of Christian music’s premier melodic rock voices. From the driving title track and the heartfelt “Tender Hearts” to the infectious “A Friend Like U,” this album blends spiritual passion with radio-ready hooks. “Standing in the Gap” became a Christian radio staple, offering an anthem of faith wrapped in glossy guitars and soaring choruses. Fully remastered, this reissue delivers the album’s original energy with renewed sonic brilliance.
