Bethlehem, PA — JesusFreakHideout.com (JFH), one of the longest-running Christian music websites on the internet, is marking its 29th anniversary today with the release of its latest free indie music sampler, Songs We’ve Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven’t), Volume Fourteen. Featuring 37 songs from an eclectic mix of independent and label artists, the collection is available now for free download and streaming via https://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/songsvol14.asp.
Curated primarily by longtime JFH staff member Scott Fryberger, with additional input from founder John DiBiase and other team members, Volume Fourteen offers listeners a rich mix of genres—from pop punk to worship, singer/songwriter, alt rock, metal, hip hop, and beyond. Notable highlights include “Shut My Mouth” by Lily Zappin (daughter of Christian hip hop legend John Reuben), the return of Crash Rickshaw with “Newports” from their first new release since 2008, and contributions from JFH’s own Chase Tremaine (“Wisdom (Find Me)”) and Michael Carder (“See Your Heart”).
“This sampler is one of our favorite ways to celebrate what we love most about music discovery,” says DiBiase, who also illustrated and designed the album’s cover art. “It’s a chance to give both our readers and the artists a meaningful connection point—whether it’s a familiar voice or a brand new one.”
Artists featured on the compilation include VOTA, Remedy Drive, Rusty Shipp, Amy Jay, Gileah Taylor, Light the Way, Homeplate, The Rocky Valentines, and many more. Several tracks appear courtesy of respected indie labels such as Small Step Records, Rottweiler Records, and Velvet Blue Music.
Songs We’ve Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven’t), Volume Fourteen continues JFH’s tradition of spotlighting both emerging talent and veteran artists across the Christian music spectrum. The series, launched in 2012, has featured hundreds of songs from independent musicians around the world.
