Orange County, CA — August 21, 2025 — A brand-new fan experience is coming to Orange County this fall: Tom Con — The Other Music Convention, the first-ever Comic Con–style convention dedicated to Christian alternative rock.

Taking place October 24–25 at the Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa, Tom Con promises to be one of the most unique gatherings in the history of Christian music. Fans will enjoy two full days of VIP meet-and-greets with legendary artists from the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. The event will feature over 50 artists interviewed across 12 panels, alongside exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime live performances. Attendees will have the rare chance to celebrate the music, the stories, and the community that shaped a generation.

Tickets, guest lists, and performance details are available now at tomconvention.com.

“They say never meet your heroes,” says founder and host Mikee Bridges. “But we like to live dangerously.”

About the Host

Tom Con was created by Mikee Bridges, founder of Tom Fest (The Other Music Festival), a Christian alternative rock festival that ran for over a decade and hosted hundreds of bands annually. As a musician, Bridges performed in several signed Christian alternative bands, including Sometime Sunday on Tooth & Nail Records. Building on decades of relationships, he has since developed six live music venues and organized more than 20 music and arts festivals across Oregon and California.

A Brief History

The roots of Christian alternative rock trace back to Orange County in the 1980s, where musicians from the Jesus Movement began fusing faith with the raw energy of punk and new wave. Bands such as Undercover, The Altar Boys, and The Choir helped pioneer a rebellious, faith-fueled sound that stood apart from traditional Christian music and carved out a lasting influence in both the Christian and alternative rock scenes.
