'Joy in Obedience' is the second single from Vineyard Worship’s upcoming EP House of the Lord, written by Andrew Reid, Matt Richens and Lucy Grimble.
The idea for this song came from a moment of personal worship with the words, “I give you my all King Jesus”. We love songs of surrender, but often it’s easy to sing about surrender without understanding what we are surrendering to. In this case we wanted to remind ourselves of the nature of Jesus emptying and humbling himself to come as a servant.
The heart of discipleship is obedience to Jesus and his way of living. It is our greatest joy in life to become someone who will do what Jesus would do. This song is to help people recommit to the way of Jesus and be reminded of the joy that comes with this commitment.
Recorded with a live audience in St. Albans, the track captures the atmosphere of genuine, joy-filled worship and communal surrender.
'Joy In Obedience' releases everywhere on 29th August.
