Rosario, Argentina (September 2025) – Argentine musician Cristian Castro, known artistically as KAZTROH, has just released his most ambitious project to date: Nacido en Rojo y Crecido en Bordeaux (Born in Red and Raised in Bordeaux). This new work, available on all digital platforms, is not only a rock album but also a book and a short film that intertwine to bring to life a complex, intimate, and deeply human story.

KAZTROH’s relationship with music began at age 11, when a televised concert by Soledad Pastorutti inspired him to study guitar. Over time, he added the tenor saxophone and music reading to his skills, until rock burst into his life and defined his path.

His first band, Matheu, was born in honor of the neighborhood where he grew up. The group released five albums and remained active for 18 years, marking a fundamental stage of learning and artistic growth. Later, between 2019 and 2022, he was the singer and bassist of the trio Duramadre, before launching his solo career in 2023. That personal journey was quickly consolidated with three productions: De lo Sagrado a lo Lúdico EP (From the Sacred to the Playful) – Part I and Part II, along with Incoar Ortodoxo de los Géneros (Orthodox Inception of Genres), all released in 2024.

Now, KAZTROH takes things a step further with Nacido en Rojo y Crecido en Bordeaux, a work that breaks the boundaries of music. It consists of three independent yet complementary narratives: a studio album, a book, and a short film.

«The book, the album, and the short film can be enjoyed separately, but together they enhance the story as a whole,» explains the artist. The plot revolves around Neryceb, a character who faces internal struggles such as loneliness, fear of rejection, and the search for identity. Over the course of seven chapters—or songs—the protagonist undergoes a transformation process that culminates in a message of hope and redemption.

The album, recorded at Estudio Garra, features outstanding musicians: Marcelo «Corvata» Corvalán (Arde La Sangre) on bass, Maxi Bongarrá (Año Cero) and Santiago Piedra (Mujer Cebra) on guitars, Ezequiel Bongarrá on piano, Aaron Oliver on programming and synthesizers, Andrés Villanova (Duki) on drums, Matías Romero (National Symphony Orchestra) on strings, Joaquín Benítez Kitegroski on bandoneon, and a special collaboration by Guillermo Vadalá on «Hedor». The production was led by Ale Vázquez. The result is a sonic blend of rap, 90s hip hop, funk, tango, grunge, and alternative rock.

The visual narrative of the short film was directed by Andrés Picech, while the book was edited and designed by María Amalia Frana Bisang, featuring illustrations by Agostina Goglino and proofreading by Silvina Pluis.

Among the seven tracks on the album, KAZTROH highlights «Ese Muro Es Mi Prisión» (That Wall Is My Prison) as the conceptual core. The song reflects on the inner walls that each person builds when unable to express themselves or ask for help. This self-imposed confinement becomes a loop that seems impossible to escape, although the work as a whole points toward overcoming and freedom.

Through Nacido en Rojo y Crecido en Bordeaux, Cristian seeks to mirror experiences common to many people: heartbreak, loneliness, the struggle for self-acceptance, and the need to find identity. The story of Neryceb is, in a way, a mirror in which the audience can see themselves. «In the end, the character manages to break free from fear and open up to trust. That’s where his process of redemption begins,» says the musician. 

After recently performing in Buenos Aires alongside Año Cero and SAL, KAZTROH is preparing the official presentation of this new project in Rosario, to be announced soon.
