WAYNESVILLE, OH –November 14, 2025 — Award-winning traditional country artist Richard Lynch is set to release his heartfelt version of “Why Me Lord” on November 14, 2025, the latest single from his inspirational LP, Pray on the Radio: Songs of Inspiration.
Originally penned and performed by Kris Kristofferson, “Why Me Lord” has long stood as one of country music’s most revered gospel ballads—a timeless meditation on faith, humility, and redemption. In Lynch’s hands, the song is reborn with a sincerity and authenticity that only decades of country craftsmanship can bring.
“This song has always spoken to me on a deep level,” says Lynch. “Kris wrote it from a place of gratitude and grace, and that message still rings true today. I wanted to honor the spirit of the original while giving it my own country touch—something that feels lived-in, like a Sunday morning prayer on the front porch.”
Lynch’s warm baritone and signature “Keepin’ It Country” style give new life to the classic track, blending traditional instrumentation—steel guitar, acoustic strums, and gentle harmonies—with a genuine reverence for the song’s message. Produced at Beaird Music Studios in Nashville, “Why Me Lord” captures the spirit of faith that has guided Lynch throughout his four-decade career.
The LP, Pray on the Radio: Songs of Inspiration, continues in that same spirit. A collection of spiritually infused country songs both classic and new, the album serves as a musical testimony to Lynch’s values—faith, family, and authenticity. The collection includes Lynch’s most recent radio chart hits, “The Phone Call” and “Jesus and Bocephus.”
Over the years, Richard Lynch has built a remarkable legacy as one of country music’s most genuine voices. From hit duets with Leona Williams and Rhonda Vincent to multiple chart-topping singles and appearances on RFD-TV, WSM Radio Nashville, and Billboard Magazine, Lynch remains a steadfast ambassador for traditional country and gospel-inspired storytelling. For more information, visit: www.richardlynchband.com
