Following their powerful debut All The Praise Belongs, breakthrough worship group CXMMXNS returns with “The Commons Chapel,” an intimate worship project born from a profound truth: the Spirit and truth worship God desires isn’t determined by crowd size or production values, but by the sincerity of the hearts gathered in His name.
“God doesn’t measure our worship by the size of a crowd or the volume of our band, but by the sincerity of our hearts,” reflects Ben Fielding. “This album is for the common congregation, the faithful worship teams, the worship leader with one keyboard but a heart after the Lord’s.”
The Commons Chapel takes CXMMXNS songs, both new and cherished, and strips them to their essence, creating space for what matters most: the church singing. Featuring collaboration with fellow Australian worship movement City Alight, whose accessible, theologically rich songs have become weekly staples in churches around the world, the project pairs simplified arrangements with acoustic instrumentation and organic vocals, prioritizing congregational participation over production complexity.
While larger worship gatherings are a beautiful gift to the global Church, The Commons Chapel reminds us that bigger isn’t always better, and that beauty and sincerity flourish not in the abundance of instruments, but in the offering of surrendered hearts.
Designed as both a resource and an encouragement for worship leaders, The Commons Chapel invites congregations everywhere to experience devotional worship in its purest form. For where two or three are gathered in His Name, He is present among them.
