Sabbath is defined as a day of religious observance and abstinence from work, a time to reconnect with ourselves and the gift of life given by God. Today, Israeli singer songwriter and producer Yair Levi honors that divine gift with his new single “Back To You (Sabbath).” Written with songwriter Ryan Hall ("Worthy Of It All") and produced by Kevin Embleton, the calm yet peaceful track goes beyond any one religion to explore the Biblical concept of Sabbath as the Source of Blessing and a universal experience. Sonically, “Back To You (Sabbath)” utilizes traditional Israeli folks instruments alongside modern ones to create a piece that makes the soul want to dance. “Back To You (Sabbath)” is now available HERE.
“In our modern race for careers and achievements, we often fall into the trap of thinking that the harder we push, the more we will succeed,” shares Yair. “While we must put in our own effort, the true source of our blessing is the Sabbath. It is the day we disconnect to reconnect with ourselves and remember that God is the provider of all abundance. My hope is that this song brings a sense of calm and a feeling of longing, even for those who have never physically experienced a Sabbath.”
Yair Levi is a Jewish Israeli singer, songwriter, and producer based in Tel Aviv. While his music was originally written with a Jewish audience in mind, he has since put out worship songs for a wider global Church upon seeing a desire from Christian audiences to engage with his music. The resulting songs combine Jewish soul music with deep faith and Biblical values and have received over 8 million streams worldwide. After receiving a special Rabbinical dispensation, Yair was able to enter churches and share the original language of the Bible with congregations, demonstrating the bridge between Judaism and Christianity. He has since returned to the US several times, performing both English and Hebrew songs and spreading the word of God.
