Matthew West has topped the Christian radio charts this week with his latest single
“Good,” marking his
39th No. 1 song as an artist and songwriter and further cementing his title as “one of Christian music's most prolific songwriters”

The milestone adds to a decorated career defined by West's rare longevity and impact as both a recording artist and songwriter. In addition to being named NSAI's Songwriter-Artist of the Year twice, West is an ASCAP Golden Note Award recipient, ASCAP Songwriter of the Year nominee and a multi-year ASCAP Christian Music Songwriter/Artist of the Year winner, with more than 275 songwriting credits to his name. This month, he's up for Male Artist of the Year at the 2026 K-LOVE Fan Awards.
Written by West with AJ Pruis, “Good” has become West's fastest-rising single since 2013. Drawing inspiration from the Book of Romans, the song traces West's journey from striving to surrender, contrasting human weakness with God's unwavering goodness. Anchored by a powerful, sing-along chorus, the song reframes grace as something not earned by effort, but freely given because God is good.
