Prevailer’s journey began in New Jersey back in 2015, a coalition of individuals driven by the same passion for music and fundamental beliefs. Their first release was a self-titled EP, which came out in 2016 and gave them a foundation from which to grow and develop their sound. A selection of singles followed, all showing dramatic progress in every area of the band’s performance and presentation – all of which paved the way to a deal with Rottweiler Records and their first full length album, Convalescent, which hits the streets on August 28th!

Holding nothing back, Convalescent explodes into life with the effervescent fury of ‘Diseased Frames’, a song that shows in a microcosm the powerful entity that Prevailer have become and what this album has to offer: the shocking impact, the skull shattering force of the drums, the snarling guitars and throat tearing vocals, all leading to a melodic chorus of overwhelming strength and magnitude. The emotion that burns through this track, this album, this band is a key element; it ignites the songs, lifting them above the average progressive metalcore fare. Highlights are many – from the weight, muscle, focus and intent of ‘Crooked Atlas’, where the guitars whip, thrash and lunge like enraged serpents, to the melody and melancholy of ‘Entry Wound’, the raw, impassioned vocals digging to the depths of the soul and the music forming a complex surrounding mesh of elements, interweaving and creating a tapestry of gut-wrenching emotion. The best way to experience Convalescent though is in its entirety, to ride the tidal waves of aggression and energy that form first single ‘Into The Furnace’, through the unsettled quietude of the title track, on to the unrelenting intensity of formidable closer, ‘Inversion’. It’s a challenge, a test of fortitude, but an immensely rewarding one.

Superbly produced, mixed and mastered to imbue the songs with earthshaking resonance and undeniable emotive force, Convalescent is a devastating display of determination, conviction and honesty made sound. Adorned in superlative cover art, Prevailer’s defining statement to date will be unleashed by Rottweiler Records on August 28th…be ready when it hits.
