With the exception of the broad label of metal itself, Raining Locusts largely defies categorization. Elements of death metal, black metal, thrash, and progressive metal can all be heard throughout the band's music, yet none of those subgenres fully defines its sound. That refusal to fit neatly into a single stylistic box is what makes Raining Locusts so distinctive and appealing to listeners who have grown tired of the predictable formulas often found in extreme music.
The band's new single, "Maligned Into Deformity," serves as another powerful example of the musical depth explored by Canadian musician Royden Turple (Scarlet Oath, The Beckoning) and Texas-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Derek Corzine (Corzine Studio, Testimony of Apocalypse, Burial Extraction). Together, they continue to push beyond conventional boundaries, crafting music that is both challenging and rewarding for adventurous metal fans.
