Singer-songwriter Ashley Hess is stepping into a new chapter of her career with the release of her upcoming single, "LOVE LIKE YOU," arriving July 10. The song marks Hess's first release as an independent artist again in this new chapter of her career and introduces a renewed season of music centered on freedom, healing, and love

Hess first captured national attention as a Top 14 finalist on American Idol Season 17, where her powerful vocals and emotional performances resonated with audiences nationwide. Since then, she has built a devoted following through her vulnerable songwriting and genre-blending artistry. Her breakout song "Yet" has surpassed 36.9 million Spotify streams, reached #13 on the Billboard Christian chart, and gained support from radio outlets including K-LOVE and Air1.

Following the success of "Yet," Hess entered a season of significant transitions. The experience became a time of challenges, growth, and introspection, which has significantly influenced her approach to this upcoming chapter.

Now, partnering with Wings Distribution, Hess is moving forward independently with music that reflects both the lessons and perspective gained through the past couple of years.

Written during a season of personal and professional uncertainty, "LOVE LIKE YOU" was born from a desire to find hope in the middle of disappointment and return to what matters most.

"I've had kind of a weird and hard year in all areas of my life," says Hess. "I felt like I was losing a lot of things that were important to me, including parts of myself in some ways. The day I wrote this song; I was feeling overwhelmed with how big the gap felt between where I was and where I wanted to be."

Blending emotional honesty with a message of hope, "LOVE LIKE YOU" represents the beginning of a new era for Hess — one defined by creative freedom, hard-earned perspective, and a deeper connection to the music and message she wants to share.

"I also am realizing more and more how deeply we all individually need love, and how the world collectively is so desperately in need of love. For me, the perfect example and display of love is Jesus Christ and I just want to learn to love myself and others the way He did, and still does."
