After several years of silence and a growing stream of singles, The Emerging Sound releases their new full — length album "Jesus, the Light of the World," in partnership with People & Songs. What began as a call to prayer and remembrance has unfolded through revelation, renewal, faith, and testimony, and now resolves in a culmination of unified expression in worship. This album captures a collective response to the person and work of Jesus Christ.
At the center of the project is the focus track, "Praise! Praise! Praise!," led by Dove Award nominee Jonathan Lee McElhenny. This song embodies the final movement of the journey: unrestrained, corporate praise. Built around the scriptural declaration "Blessed be Your name," it calls the Church to worship in every season of joy, sorrow, victory, and trial, and to celebrate the unchanging goodness of God revealed through the cross and resurrection.
What began in quiet intercession now erupts into a unified, celebratory cry. The narrative arc across the album is intentional and deeply cohesive. Songs like "Father's Brilliance" lift the gaze to behold Christ in His glory, while "Walk In The Light" calls believers into daily discipleship. "Feel Your Heartbeat" turns inward toward personal renewal, "Stand On Your Promise" establishes confident faith, and "Something to Say" sends that faith outward in bold testimony. Together, these moments form a complete spiritual progression that mirrors the Christian life.
The project is carried by a diverse and powerful collection of voices, including The Emerging Sound founder, Dove Award winner, and Gold Certified songwriter Jennie Lee Riddle, alongside contributors such as Jordan Merritt and Cliff Preston of The Band Table, and critically acclaimed, award-winning, Billboard-charting Gospel artist Denita Gibbs to name a few. Each voice is a distinct expression, yet remains unified to reflect the heart of shared faith.
The album preserves the organic, in-the-room dynamic that has defined The Emerging Sound. Rather than refining away the moment, the production leans into authenticity and community by capturing songs as lived experiences, not just compositions, resulting in seamless moves from personal devotion to congregational expression.
This release marks new beginning between The Emerging Sound and People & Songs, a partnership distinguished by rare consistency and lasting impact. Each album has debuted at #1 on the iTunes Christian charts, but crucially, their songs continue to find life within the congregations of the global Church. They have long stood as pioneers in collaborative worship, helping shape a model now widely embraced across the genre. Bound to Scripture-centered writing, spiritual formation, and authentic community, they focus on creating music that serves the Church first.
Each step of this journey leads to Him. From the first cry of prayer to the final shout of praise, this album gathers every voice into one enduring truth: Jesus is the Light of the World!
