Produced by Lil Ronnie, known for his work with Glorilla, Usher, Britney Spears, and more, "His Favorite" is anchored by Hawthorne's seamless blend of Gospel and R&B. Written by Hawthorne alongside collaborators Jordan Dollar, Alexandria Dollar, Jeffrey Shannon, Rickey Offord, and Ronnie Jackson, it serves as a reminder that blessings can be found even in the smallest moments of life, the song shares a positive message of love, belonging, confidence, and inherent worth.

"This song is about knowing your worth isn't something you have to earn," says Hawthorne. "You're already loved, already chosen, already His favorite. I hope whoever needs to hear that today, hears it."

"His Favorite" marks the first release from Big Gospel, Hawthorne's first EP as a Motown Gospel artist. Executive produced by J. White Did It (Doechii, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion) the new EP will showcase Hawthorne's fresh, elevated sound while staying true to the faith-centered message her fans have come to know and love. Across five tracks, these songs reflect a new season for Hawthorne, defined by purpose, faith, and authenticity, while cementing her place as one of the most dynamic contemporary voices in her genre.

A native of small-town Lousiana, Hawthorne's career has been marked by record-breaking milestones since finishing as a finalist on The Voice at just 17 years old under the mentorship of Pharrell Williams. She became the first female Gospel artist in half a decade to simultaneously top four major Billboard charts with three No. 1 hits on Billboard's Gospel Airplay and Hot Gospel Songs charts, has achieved two GRAMMY nominations, a Billboard Music Award, an NAACP Image Award, and three GMA Dove Awards, and has garnered more than one billion streams across platforms. She performed on the Get Lifted stage during the Essence Festival of Culture earlier this month, and delivered a speech at Sarah Jakes Roberts' Woman Evolve conference in 2025, and will announce new shows in the coming months.

ABOUT KORYN HAWTHORNE:

Koryn Hawthorne is a two-time GRAMMY-nominated, RIAA Platinum-certified artist who has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Gospel and inspirational music. The Louisiana native first captured national attention as a finalist on The Voice, where her powerful vocals introduced her to audiences across the country. She soon established herself as an artist in her own right with "Won't He Do It," which topped multiple Billboard Gospel charts and became a Platinum-certified anthem.

Her success has brought recognition across the music industry. Hawthorne won the Billboard Music Award for Top Gospel Song for "Won't He Do It," while her debut album, Unstoppable, received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel Album. Her honors also include three GMA Dove Awards and a Stellar Gospel Music Award, along with nominations from the American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Stellar Awards and GMA Dove Awards.

Hawthorne's influences and inspirations span generations and genres, including Etta James, Mary J. Blige, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Fred Hammond, Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin. That broad musical foundation reflects the range of sounds and traditions that have surrounded her throughout her life and career.

In 2026, Hawthorne began a new chapter by signing with Motown Gospel, a division of Capitol Christian Music Group, Capitol Records and Universal Music Group. Her first project with the label, the forthcoming EP Big Gospel, arrives this fall. With music executive produced by J. White Did It, whose credits include Doechii, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, JT and Yung Miami, the project introduces a fresh, elevated direction while preserving the sense of purpose that has always grounded her work.

Hawthorne's relationship with her audience extends beyond the stage. Through social media, she has shared her passion for cooking, home renovation and building a farm in her native Louisiana. Her journey as a homeowner has revealed another side of her creativity and allowed fans to connect with the intentional life she is building apart from music.

As she enters this next season, Hawthorne is moving forward with renewed confidence and a clearer vision for her future. Big Gospel reflects that growth while opening the door to an expansive new era in her career.

ABOUT MOTOWN GOSPEL:

A division of Capitol CMG/Universal Music Group, the world's leading Christian music company and market leader in recorded music, distribution, and music publishing, Motown Gospel's artist roster has includes Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Tye Tribbett, Pastor Mike Jr., Ricky Dillard, Jonathan McReynolds, Karen Clark Sheard, and more.
