The song, from her acclaimed album Perfect Is Your Will, follows the success of her previous single, "We Are Lifted Up," which reached No. 1 on the Christian Radio Chart for the week of May 25, 2026.

Written by Maria Jacobs and produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Pete Tokar, "My God Is Here" offers a gentle reminder that God's presence brings peace, comfort, and unwavering assurance, even in life's darkest moments. Blending Inspirational and Christian Soft AC influences, the song encourages listeners to place their confidence in the One who never leaves their side.

"My God Is Here" was inspired by the simple but powerful truth that God's presence changes everything. Drawing from her own experiences with grief, fear, and life's heavy burdens, Jacobs wrote the song as a testimony that hope returns the moment we remember God is with us. With lyrics declaring, "My God is here, He wipes away my tears, and every burden leaves," Jacobs reminds listeners that God's presence replaces fear with peace and assures believers they are never alone. The song continues with the comforting assurance that even when earthly shadows start to fall, there is no reason to fear because God remains faithful and near.

Born of Syrian Lebanese and Armenian descent, Jacobs was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, before spending more than a decade performing and recording in Los Angeles with some of the industry's finest musicians and producers, including Tommy Coster, Alphonso Johnson, and the late Ndugu Chancellor. Returning to her hometown, she partnered with Grammy Award-winning producer Pete Tokar to record multiple albums, including her first full-length Christian album, Perfect Is Your Will.

Her accomplishments span both the Christian and jazz music worlds. Jacobs has charted on the Groove Jazz and Smooth Jazz Holiday Charts, while several of her Christian singles have debuted in the Top 10 on Christian Radio Chart, including reaching the coveted No. 1 position. Her live recording, Back at the Bop Stop, was accepted for Grammy® consideration in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, while Perfect Is Your Will was accepted for Grammy® consideration in the Best Contemporary Christian Album category for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. She is also a voting member of the Recording Academy (NARAS).

An accomplished vocalist, Jacobs has appeared as a featured soloist in Wynton Marsalis' Abyssinian Mass under the direction of Damien Sneed and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus during the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Severance Hall. She has also opened for Chuck Mangione, Bob Dorough, The Average White Band, and British soul band Loose Ends.

Beyond her performing career, Jacobs is a licensed music educator and serves as Vocal Jazz Professor at Kent State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, graduating Cum Laude. A published Christian author and prolific songwriter with more than 150 compositions and ten solo albums to her credit, she continues to inspire audiences through music that reflects both artistic excellence and a deep, unwavering faith.
