MICHIGAN -- September 4, 2026 -- Nobody's Uncle has released "The Shameless Swoon," the first single from upcoming LP, Kiss The Son.
Musically, the song blends the upbeat melodiousness of your favorite power pop songs with the driving rawness of late '90s emo and indie rock. It's catchy and energetic on the surface, but there's a melancholic urgency underneath that gives the song weight. Bright melodies and infectious hooks are paired with a raw, guitar-driven sound that feels both nostalgic and immediate. Think Jimmy Eat World meets The Posies meets The Brother Kite.
"The Shameless Swoon" reflects the struggle and outpouring of the singer's own heart in the light of a crumbling world around him. "When this song was written, a lot of people that I care about were deconstructing and leaving the church all in one fell swoop. I started examining my own heart and asking questions about the trueness of my convictions. Do I really believe what I say I believe? Would I die for my allegiance to Christ or is my faith a matter of convenience and comfort? I think these are questions all believers need to ask and revisit. I hope this song causes others to reflect on and renew their commitment to the Lord."
