FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Alternative industrial rock outfit Bad Plans is back with "I Just Wanna Vibe," a song cleverly personifying anxiety. The song is the first of what will be an album cycle for the band, and is available now at https://ffm.to/bzjqev9.
"I wanted to write a song personifying the feeling of anxiety, and the push/pull experience of what an anxiety attack can oftentimes feel like," explains lead singer and songwriter Jesse Hardiek. "It's written lyrically from the perspective of an internal dialogue. While it's a short, relatively simple song, it took around 30 versions to get to the final product."
That attention to the art is what has increasingly set Bad Plans apart as an act to watch. With slots for major bands like Disciple already under their belts, their darkly shimmering synth-influenced alt rock sound has moved them onto more and more significant stages. "I Just Wanna Vibe" builds on that growing momentum as the first in a set of songs self-produced by Jesse Hardiek, with co-production support from drummer Kyle Levy and guitarist Ken Baumann. The legendary Sam Moses mastered this set of songs, which will be continuing to follow "I Just Wanna Vibe" in the months to come.
"I Just Wanna Vibe's" forthright approach to a taboo subject like anxiety has become a hallmark for Bad Plans, who often sing about mental health and the corresponding struggles.
Jesse says of the band's offerings, "Much of the lyrical content is born out of my own experiences, so in a lot of ways what I sing about ends up being a challenge in honesty and a bit of a healing exercise for myself. The only way we continue to demystify mental health is to talk about it."
The band is doing exactly that in a way that is increasingly impossible to look away from. "I Just Wanna Vibe" followers 2025 sleeper hits "Rot," "Teeth," "Taste" and "In Bloom." The band will be playing shows in Minneapolis, MN and Middletown, IN in support of the single release; find details at https://www.bandsintown.com/a/15508251-bad-plans.
