Heal The Hurt released the explosive and introspective new single "Afraid Of Silence" on October 15, 2026. Building on their last release, "Critical Error," this track digs deeper into the cycle of burnout, digital dependence and the search for connection in a world that demands our attention from every angle. You can find it on all major platforms at https://stem.ffm.to/afraidofsilence.
"Afraid Of Silence" examines the noise that keeps the productivity-to-identity cycle alive. The lyrics depict a life spent hiding behind screens, performing happiness, and fearing that stepping away means becoming irrelevant. At its center is the need to be seen and understood.
For vocalist and songwriter Trevor Tyson, the subject comes directly from his experience pursuing success as a podcaster and business owner.
"I never felt ahead. I was always chasing progress, trying to stay relevant and catch up to my idea of success," Tyson shares. "No matter how much I accomplished, it never felt like enough. Looking back, it felt more like a prison than chasing a dream. I completely lost myself."
"Afraid Of Silence" explores the contradiction of being constantly connected while feeling increasingly alone. The song moves from the longing to be seen into a confrontation with artificial intimacy and the pressure to present a perfect life. Its closing question, "Are you afraid of the silence?," leaves listeners facing what endless scrolling and constant online activity may be helping them avoid.
"How can we live without rest? How can we rest without peace? And how can we find peace if we never give ourselves time?" Tyson continues. "This song comes from realizing how much of myself I had given to that fear."
The release arrives ahead of Heal The Hurt's NO HOPE IN HELL TOUR, presented by KingdomCore Presents. The band will headline across the country this November with Magdalene Rose and Unbroken Reign, followed by a West Coast leg in early 2027 with Cultist and Small Voice.
Between tour legs, Heal The Hurt will return home for their first Christmas Against Traffic event on December 19 at The Masquerade's Altar in Atlanta. Presented in partnership with Rock Against Traffic and Against Traffic Industries, the evening will bring together Heal The Hurt, Magdalene Rose, Meadows, Cleansing Of The Temple, Thrones, Sequoia, and special guest Tommy Green to raise awareness and support quality aftercare for survivors of human trafficking.
