V*Enna
Where I Wanna Be

Artist Info: Discography
Album length: 11 tracks: 40 minutes, 37 seconds
Street Date: September 26th, 2000

"I wanna be the way you are... I wanna live the way You live... I wanna love the way You love... I wanna see the way You see... This is where I wanna be." The words of this song are so evident throughout this CD as Lucy and Sharnessa's vocals flow from song to song. I would say the title is appropriate for the CD because it reflects upon the though, "Where should I be?" Other songs like "Sometimes," "Sunshine and Rain," "All the Way to Heaven," and "Do You Wanna Know," fit the title.

V*Enna reminded me of the Europop music like that of Ace of Base, Savage Garden, and Eiffle 65. It's that techno outer-spacey (is that even a word?) type sound. One of the songs, "Best Friends," sounded like an *N SYNC song from their latest CD.

A few songs that I really enjoyed were "Where I Wanna Be," "Sometimes," and "Hold On." I found "Hold On" to be really encouraging and exactly what I needed to hear at the moment. "Sometimes" had such a dreamy effect with very neat background sounds. It seems to describe the human relationship with Jesus to a "T." The title track has such a great beat with really awesome lyrics. God has certainly blessed Lucy and Sharnessa with grat talent.

There were only 2 songs I didn't care for too much. "Make that Noize" didn't seem to fit the CD. It sounded too much like a "Here We Go" (*N SYNC) or "Backstreet's Back" (Backstreet Boys) type song. I also found "Don't Stop" to be a nice song, yet rather monotonous.

Over all, I enjoyed V*Enna's first full-length album, Where I Wanna Be, as did my younger sister (who wants to go out and buy it when it releases). I think it's great that young kids have good Christian role models and I'm happy that my sister may count V*Enna as one of hers!
